What’s Included?

At Active-Eat we believe that yoga can help any age from newborn through to old age. We know that stress levels are on the increase and we believe that the earlier we learn skills to help us cope with stress then the better chance people have of coping with any given situation or challenge.

We have developed our baby yoga classes to help babies learn to relax from a young age. We use breathing and relaxation techniques that parents and carers can use at home to help both the parent and baby to stay happy. We help babies to stretch their bodies to counteract the time they spend cramped up in car seats, bouncing chairs and pushchairs to help relieve physical stress from the body as well as helping them to develop the skills they need to assist them with their physical development.

Our baby yoga classes include stretches for the parents, we appreciate how much stress is put on the body from carrying, feeding and changing a baby. We therefore use yoga postures to help stretch and strengthen the key muscle groups. This makes our baby yoga classes ideal for parents, grandparents and carers. We also know that there are times when looking after a young person is stressful and you feel the urge to walk away from it all or sit in a corner and rock whilst sobbing, we’ve all been there. We use our personal experiences along with our yoga skills to teach you ways to cope in these situations. Baby yoga is a great way to bond with your baby whilst learning new skills and getting some exercise. If that’s not enough to encourage you to come along then how about the fact that 1 hour of baby yoga is the equivalent to 24 hours stimulation for your baby so usually baby’s leave ready for a nice long sleep, some don’t even make it to the end of class before falling asleep.

Some of the other benefits of baby yoga include:

  • Aiding digestion
  • Relieving colic
  • Relieving constipation
  • Promoting better sleep
  • Improving strength and co-ordination
  • Improving flexibility of the spine and joints

If that’s not enough, we also follow *EYFS and SEN guidelines so our sessions are educational and safe ensuring all of the babies’ senses are stimulated.
