Why Choose a Dru Yoga Class
While Dru has stillness at its heart, it is also a great way to improve your strength, flexibility and build core stability too. So, if you’re looking for an effective movement practice – Dru can provide this along with so much more.
Other benefits of Dru Yoga include:
- Increased energy levels
- Stress relief
- Improved sleep and reduced anxiety
- More flexible joints and muscle strength
- Reduced back pain
- Improved digestive function
- Lower blood pressure
- Greater clarity and focus
If you are new to yoga or have never tried Dru before then you might be wondering what makes Dru different to other styles of yoga.
Dru classes are made up of different elements but usually include a gentle warm-up called activations; flowing yoga sequences; traditional postures and breathwork. Each class is completed with a guided relaxation to settle body and mind.
Dru and Me
I love teaching and seeing the changes that Dru creates in people. Many people are drawn to my classes because they have health issues and injuries, and I think this is partly because I have been there and lived through those challenges. It’s also because I’m so passionate about the body and how we can improve our physical health through movement. My love of learning is also reflected in my classes. I believe that continual training and development is so important: Not only to ensure that I am sharing the very latest techniques with my clients, but also for my own wellbeing and practice.
I think it’s fair to say I’m not a ‘fluffy’ teacher, I’m very practical and I love anatomy, physiology and all things to do with how the body works. Having said that, I know how powerful the energetics of yoga can be on both our physical and mental health. So, this is something I try to weave into my classes in an easily digestible way.
