These classes are especially suited for those with chronic pain, arthritis or MSK conditions and will help you manage your pain, stretch, and relax.

Sitting and standing options are given for all postures, making it accessible for all. The classes are given by Jenny Oakenfull of Active-Eat. We start each class with mindfulness, followed by some some gentle exercises which also incorporate elements that are similar to Tai Chi and yoga, and then finishes with relaxation and a short discussion of topics of interest such as nutrition to help with chronic pain – or just a general group support chat. This is a difficult time for many people and if you find yourself dealing with anger, stress, frustration, and feelings of hopelessness then we think these classes can help – stress and health issues can go hand in hand.

These sessions are fully funded by Sport England for those that need (no questions will be asked).

For those that are able, a four-week subsidised pass can be purchased at the following discretionary tiered rates:

  • £25 for 4 weeks (£5 per week + buy a week for someone else)
  • £20 for 4 weeks (£5 per week)
  • £8 for 4 weeks (£2 per week)
  • £4 for 4 weeks (£1 per week)
  • Free Pass

Purchasing any of the above passes supports the sustainability of these sessions and will allow them to continue beyond the scope of the initial funding award. If you would like to book a second class, this will be £5 per session.

The session includes a weekly video of the class so you can either catch up if you miss a class or you can practice the lesson as many times as you like during the week. The sessions also include some free online resources to help you continue practicing at home.
